A Way To Sharpen Our NLP Skills

Perhaps it was yesterday or perhaps many years ago. Now, if you are imagining that you cannot do this as you have not felt this way previously, then picture how somebody who is relaxed and self-assured would stand, breathe and feel. Perhaps this is somebody you respect for being this way. Once you have attained the sought after state, amplify it to make it as intense and attractive as you can. This is how one of your other %LINK1% comes into play. This is known as anchoring. In this example, an anchor is a trigger for the state change. Therefore, when you are fully experiencing the state such as calm and confident, that you want to bring back one day, you can, for instance, scratch the back of your neck or squeeze together the thumb and index finger of your left hand; it is your decision. In this manner, the selected action becomes an element of the calm and confident state. So, when you do the trigger action again, for example, as you think about or enter the situation in which you would previously have been anxious, you clearly enter the desired resource state.
You are probably now realizing the importance of practising the %LINK1% of creating resource states and anchoring. These are NLP techniques that you can apply to all areas of your life. Of course, the beauty of mastering these skills is that the resulting states will greatly improve your communication skills and have a positive effect on the other people that you come into contact with.
