It's all about what is said in the pre-show talk, once people are on stage, they are basically already in an altered state (after all they are now being watched by the audience) it's much easier to really pay attention to the Hypnotist than to notice how everyone is looking at you....and once you pay attention to Mike, unless your cell phone is ringing in your pocket or you're wondering if you left the stove on at home...you're going to experience hypnosis.
